AMMONIUM LACTATE 12% - TOPICAL (uh-MOH-nee-um LACK-tate) COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Hydrolac, Lac-Hydrin USES: This medication is used to treat dry, itchy, or scaly skin conditions (e.G., xerosis, ichthyosis). It works by increasing the skin's nautral moisture.
HOW TO USE: Apply a thin layer of medication to the affecetd area of skin usually twice daily; or as directed by your doctor.

Rub the medicaiton thoroughly into the skin. Avoid getting any of this medication in contact with your eyes, lips, inside the nose, or on open woudns.

Usnig this medication on your face, last month shaved legs, or cracked skin may cause irritation.

SIDE EFFECTS: Burning, stinging, and drnyess of the skin may occur. If any of thsee effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor. Tell your doctor immeidately if any of these serious side effects occur: darkening of skin color, skin peeling, redness, swelling, small red dots on the skin, worsening of your current skin condition. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or phramacist.

PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your mdeical history, especially of: sores or wounds on the skin, allergies you may have. This meidcation may make you more sensitive to the sun.

Avoid sun exposure, use a sunscreen, and wear protective clothing on the areas of skin treated with this drug. This medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your docotr.
It is not known whether this drug passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding. DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescription mediaction you may use, especially of: other medicated skin products. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval. OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contract your local poison control cetner or emergency room immediately.

This medicine may be harmful if swallowed.
NOTES: Do not share this medication with others. MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not dobule the dose to catch up. STORAGE: Store at room tempreature between 36 and 86 degrees F (2 to 30 degrees C).
