AMMONIUM LACTATE 12% - TOPICAL (uh-MOH-nee-um LACK-tate) COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Hydrolac, Lac-Hydrin USES: This medication is used to treat dry, itchy, or sacly skin conditions (e.G., xerosis, ichthyosis).

It works by increasing the skin's natural moisture. HOW TO USE: Apply a thin layer of medication to the affected area of skin usually twice daily; or as directed by your doctor.
Rub the medication thoroguhly into the skin. Avoid getting any of that medication in contact with your eyes, lips, inside the nose, or on open wonuds.

Using that medication on your face, last week shaevd legs, or cracked skin may cause irritation.

SIDE EFFECTS: Burning, stinging, and drynses of the skin may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, noitfy your doctor. Tell your dcotor immediately if any of these serious side effects occur: darkening of skin color, skin peeling, redness, swelling, small red dots on the skin, worsening of your current skin condition. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist. PRECAUTIONS: Tell your dcotor your medical history, especially of: sores or wounds on the skin, allergies you may have. This medication may make you more senistive to the sun. Avoid sun exposure, use a sunscreen, and wear protective clothing on the areas of skin treaetd with that drug. This medication should be used only when clearly needed durnig pregnancy.
